Richard G. Denney, P.E.
Associate Consultant
Dick began his
career with Shell Chemical at the Martinez, CA chemical plant where
he gained experience in specialty petrochemical process engineering,
economic evaluation, operations management, plant trouble shooting
and start-up. Subsequent positions resulted in experience in general
management, new project development, project management, feasibility
studies, contract negotiations, energy marketing, and process development
as related to natural gas, natural gas liquids, crude oil refining,
nuclear fuel reprocessing, synthetic natural gas, coal gasification,
LNG and petrochemicals. Since joining Barnes and Click in 1988,
Dick has expanded his knowledge and expertise in the domestic and
foreign energy industry and has become an internationally known
consultant, recognized for outstanding proficiency both in hydrocarbon
processing economics and energy project development strategy.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
International project financing -
served as independent gas advisor to
a syndicate of international commercial banks financing a world-scale
gas-fired power project in South Asia.

Strategic studies -
evaluated the opportunities for natural gas processing,
LPG marketing, CNG fueled vehicles and petrochemical production
in South Asia.

Mergers and acquisitions -
served as technical advisor for buyers and/or
lenders in due diligence on acquisition and financing of gas gathering
systems and processing plants.

Economic evaluations -
determined fair market values for energy and
chemical processing facilities for support of acquisition, bankruptcy,
and ad valorem tax assessment

Expert Witness -
served as expert witness and arbitrator in energy contract
disputes.
