Larry K. Smith
Senior Consultant
Larry began
his career at Exxon Company, USA as a petroleum engineer. In late
1977, he moved to Atlantic Richfield where he enjoyed a 23-year
career working in all phases of upstream and mid-stream operations.
After varied engineering assignments in the Texas Gulf Coast, Permian
Basin and Alaska North Slope, Larry directed the research organization
responsible for supporting ARCO's world wide well completion activities.
Later assignments included Asset Manager of an integrated tertiary
recovery operation with two cryogenic processing units (a nitrogen
rejection unit and an air separation unit) and Marketing Manager
responsible for the trading and transportation of ARCO's lease production
of oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids. Larry has experience
in the design, construction, operation, HSE management and economic
evaluation of oil and gas operations and facilities. Larry joined
Barnes & Click, Inc. in February, 2002.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

Lenders' Independent Engineer -
Monitored construction compliance with
lending agreements and advised lenders on all issues impacting
their investments in a gas storage project.

Financial Turnaround -
Evaluated business opportunities of poor performing
asset and implemented successful financial turnaround for major,
integrated oil and gas operation.

Commercial Development -
Managed the trading and transportation of crude
oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids. Negotiated waterflood
unitization agreements, including equity percentages, and gas
processing, treating and transportation agreements.

Economic Evaluations -
Determined fair market values for gas processing
plants and gas gathering systems for purposes of acquisition and
divesture.

Health and Safety -
Implemented OSHA PSM programs in major oil and
gas operations. Led audit team to assess overall safety performance
of offshore operations.
